Christmas Jumpers

On the last day of term the whole school was able to wear a christmas jumper and donate £1 towards our chosen charity, The Salvation Army.

Chair Champs

Today we  have took part in Chair Champs, with Freya representing year 6 and Tyler representing year 5, the competition began! Using mental maths skills and maths knowledge the children answered questions, with lots of support from the audience they made it through to the final and in there lead come Freya.

Filling the boxes!

Today we have all filled one shoe box each ready for operation christmas child, thats 240 shoe boxes ready to be sent of and 240 happy children on christmas morning! We take great pride in this as we like to think that we have made lots of happy faces on christmas morning.

Book Character Day

Today we have dressed up as a character from our class author, Michael Foreman. Our class book is War Boy, which is about a little boy’s experience of life during WW2. Did you know Michael Foreman is an author and illustrator?

Chair Champs!

To finish off the year, we held our annual chair champs competition. Tom from Class 7 represented Year 5. Chair champs is a mental maths competition which tests children’s math skills. Tom is the champion and managed to compete in the final round with an immense score of 14.77 seconds.

Class 8 say well done to Tom and everyone that has taken part in todays chair champs.

Spelling Stars

This morning, we have had a whole school spelling competition. Charlie represented our class. Charlie did exceptionally well and even managed to beat Year 6. Charlie was faced with some tricky words including: sufficient, cemetery, museum and convenience. Class 8 all say a big well done to Charlie!

This afternoon, we have been wrapping boxes ready for Operation Christmas Child! We have been working in pairs to get as many boxes wrapped as we can. How many have you wrapped?

Remembrance Day

This morning, at 11 o’clock, the whole school had a minute silent to remember soldiers that have fought for us in different wars. Each class bought their class wreath with them.


This morning, we have two ladies from the NSPCC in explaining to us about childline and about how important it is to talk an adult about any worried you may have. We spoke about being about to tell our parents as well as teacher in school. Who else could you talk to?
